A clump-forming bamboo, this plant may be divided in spring, replanting immediately, and ensuring a constant supply of moisture to the transplant. It can also be grown from stem cuttings consisting of a single branching node, and a few inches of stem above and below this node; plant 4-6" deep and keep moist until established. Layering, as with Arundinaria, may also be tried. Sun, well-drained soil. Zone 8-10
